Mirumo 934SH is a cool new cell phone by Sharp for the Japanese market. The cell phone comes with an odd display of two sides, and it is water proof too. When the handset is open, you can use all the normal functions and when the handset is closed, you would get a low power consuming black and white screen with which you can play around with many apps and games.

The screen is being touted as unique as they use the memory liquid crystal, and thanks to which the cell phone uses very little power. This handset would be available only in Japan and if you are heading towards Tokyo, make sure you get one back home. This may also indicate what the future is like for cell phones in other parts of the world.

There is no information about its price, but you could expect it to be a higher end model, thanks to the sleek and chic design, and also the ground breaking technology which Sharp has used. The Mirumo 934SH comes in many different colours and you could choose the one that suits your mood the best.

Can we really stop those multitudes of marching microbes and the flu? Well, with fears of pandemic Swine flu looming large answer seems no. But going by Sharp’s latest ad campaign ‘Bacteria’, their high density Plasmacluster ion generator air purifier seems rise to the challenge of stopping the lethal march of microbes.

This colourful print campaign showing multitudes of bacteria marching has been created by M&C Saatchi, Hong Kong. Kudos to art director Takho Lau for creating such an amazing colourful visual and making bacteria almost come alive as any other endearing animation characters. The march into animal nostril is symbolic of the spread of disease.

Though the campaign is titled Bacteria, the flu story has more to do with viruses, allergens. But the timing of the launch of the campaign and air purifier itself is excellent. The world indeed is agonizing on how to stop the march of virus which is spreading across the globe. Every little hope work during such times and science makes it convincing.

Last one word for these lovely bacteria; well they are the best natural defense mechanism of our bodies. They are indeed smarter and stronger than us!

There is absolutely nothing that can dampen the green revolution and solar energy wave that is hitting the world at the moment; not even a bit of soaking in rain! KDDI and Sharp have announced that they will be bringing waterproof solar panel technology into our lives by unleashing the world’s very first solar-powered mobile that will not be hampered by slightly damp conditions. The waterproof solar panel technology has been in the developing stage for quite a while now and this will be its very first commercial use for mobiles.

Sharp at this point promises to deliver a mobile that will allow you to talk for a minute or give 2-hours of standby after just 10 minutes of charge under the sun. While no other specifications are yet out, it is almost certain that this will be a basic phone with no major power-sucking features so that the pressure on the charging unit is kept simple. We will have to wait till at least this June to get our hands on it though!
