US President Barack Obama has allowed the publication of reports on the practices of the CIA. Some of these reports tell of torture that is illegal as per the treaty agreements of the Geneva Conventions, among other international legal limitations. The Obama administration will not act against the CIA agents who interrogated suspected terrorists, but it could take legal proceedings against members of the previous administration who provided the legal argument to defend the methods of torture. Current Miss Universe, Venezuelan Dayana Mendoza, who recently visited the US naval facility located in eastern Cuba on a trip organized by the United Service Organizations (USO) thinks that Guantanamo prison is a ‘relaxing place that is quiet and beautiful.’ Mendoza was sent to Guantanamo in an entertainment tour to visit US troops and raise morale.
