The highly anticipated Nokia N900 is all set to shine in showrooms near you. The commercial release for Nokia N900 has been slated for November 14th 2009 for the United States and will make its debut in the international market as one of the most prominent and powerful smart phones. The N900 is expected to be introduced in the European markets two days after the U.S launch, i.e. on November 16th 2009. The Nokia N900 for the U.S consumers will cost about $649 and $890 for the European customers.

Built on the state of the art Maemo 5 operating platform, Nokia N900 boasts of an extremely fast processor that powers the N900 and makes it faster, reliable and extremely efficient in its segment. The device built around a 600 MHz processor with 1 GB of RAM, thereby making it nearly as fast a home PC. The entire OS of N900 is based around Linux operating system and comes with a 3D graphics accelerator providing OpenGL ES 2.0 support for exceptional graphic performance.

The all new Nokia N900 features a 5 Megapixel camera with a 800 × 480 resolution for video recording. Thrown this week, by the company Openmoko, WikiReader is a portable pocket device created to transform Wikipedia in something tangible, being capable to store all its content in English (something around 3,5 million articles).

The apparel possesses a screen monochrome touchscreen of 3.7’ and it stores the texts in a microSD card (4 GB), what makes unnecessary the connection with the internet. The reduction of the content of the site (that according to the company was of 25 GB) for only 4 GB is interesting, but that implicates in the suppression of the pictures of the content.

There are only 4 physical buttons in Wikireader: one to tun on and to turn off, a search button, that when being clicked offers a virtual keyboard to insert the wanted terms, a historical button, that, besides showing the pages of Wiki already visited, it can also be used to return to an accessed content and, finally, the random button, done to help to those that want know on something, but they don’t know the exactly what.

The updating can be made in two ways. The first implicates in the connection of the device to a computer, to do the free download of the new content. The other way is to pay to Openmoko an annual amount of 29 dollars, to receive twice home a new card microSD in one year.

HTC’s HD2 is an eagerly anticipated cellphone that has been the talk of the town for quite some time. It is also known as HTC Leo and is one of the biggest Windows Mobile cellphone ever. The cellphone uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon MSM8250 1GHz chipset and comes with a cool digital compass, multitouch-compatible 4.3-inch WVGA touchscreen and microUSB port.

It also comes with a USB host which means you could also plug in keyboard, mouse, thumb-drive or other peripherals. The cellphone supports 900/2100MHz 3G bands and is thus more useful in Europe than in North America. Notification by sound, vibration, LEDs or status shown on the display allows you to be alert all the time.

Some of the other features include Microsoft Outlook Mobile / Messaging (SMS/E-mail), Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, Email Set Up Wizard and Pictures & Videos. The phone looks pretty chic and I am sure you would not want to miss something like this easily. I would say, wait for a while and check what the price of HD2 would be.

According to a report published in the London Times, Asus, a Taiwanese company is soon to come up with their eReader called the ‘Eee Reader”. If the report is true, then Asus will provide two versions of their e-book, of which one will be the cheapest in the market, while the other one will also be relatively cheap. Besides the cheap price, Asus is also creating a book like e-Reader complete with hinged spine, like a printed book.

This will enable the readers to read an ebook much like the same they read a normal book. The users can use the touchscreen to turn the pages. If you wish to use the device as a laptop, then you can do so as it has one of its touchscreens that functions like a keypad. Asus will be available in full color.

It may also come with speakers, a webcam and a microphone for Skype so that you can use cheap phone calls on the internet. Asus also claims that its ebook reader will be much cleverer and more versatile than the current ones available from Sony and Amazon. According to Jerry Shen, the President of the company, their Eee Reader will be available by the end of this year.

We have just heard that LG planned to release its LG GW880 Smartphone along with China Mobile’s OPhone OS. The name sounds a tad confusing. Well, the OPhone OS is based on Android OS and it features iPhone such as, interface and Mobile Market, which is the company’s mobile software store. The good thing is that Android software can be easily used on OPhone platform with the same API as OPhone SDK is compatible with Android SDK.

The LG GW880 is compatible with China’s 3G connection (TD-SCDMA)/EDGE, and it comes with a 3.5 inch touch screen. It also comes with cameras, both front and rear main camera with a 5 megapixel, a 512 MB ROM, which is used in the aircraft and 256 MB RAM. It has a Bluetooth connection too. It can also record video calls.

The features are quite a lot but I do not how good the phone will be. There is no information available regarding its price tag or the release date. I am assuming that it will not come cheap at all. After all, it’s a smartphone.

The much anticipated SmartQ 7 Internet Tablet is finally showing up and is about to be on display officially. Until a few days ago it was not sure what name this device would be given. Moreover, there were only very few pictures available. The WVGA resolution of the Internet Tablet is the same as Toshiba’s 4.1 inch TG01, which is stretched across a 7-inch touchscreen display.

The coolest feature of the SmartQ 7 is that it runs an unspecified Linux distro with specs, which include WiFi, a USb-host mode, stereo speakers. Its 4500mAH Li-Poly battery can run for two days of music with just a single charge. Just in case you want a little more fun, all you have to do is to hit the button placed on top.

The SmartQ 7 will also house a 667MHz Samsung ARM S3C6410 CPU, 128MB of RAM and 1GB of flash memory. If rumors are to be believed then, the SmartQ 7 will be available in China in the next couple of months with limited number. The price tag is expected to be CNY1,289 (about $190).
