We have all heard about the Tata Nano, which is the world’s cheapest car with all the pun intended. The car costs just $2,680 and being a resident of India, I do not know a lot of people who have a great opinion about the car. Now at the Geneva Motor Show, Tata unveiled the electric version of Tata Nano and would swap the ICE drivetrain for an all electric version.
The Tata Nano EV Concept car will come with a driving range of 99 miles and would take off to 60 km/h in just 10m seconds. It is quite a good deal for an electric car and it would be less than what you pay as fuel for an entire year for your SUV. The car looks quite typical to the Asian cars which have the box like structure, without cuts or shapes.
Since it is an electric car, it could be easily forgiven but the Tata Nano itself did not meet safety concerns in the U.S which makes the car quite dubious. It also did not meet several US transportation codes and thus the Tata Nano EV concept may not meet either. Of course, it could be used in countries like India and Pakistan where price is all that matters.
