clickr1 TechCrunch50: Clicker, a New Video Search Engine

Clicker is a new video search engine that aims to outdo other search engines that bring video content. It was launched today at TechCrunch50 and seems quite promising. The idea is to divide all the videos by their genre, show name, etc. This makes the searching of videos easy and it even works faster. There are however too many competitors including Google’s video search.

It would be rather arrogant to think that someone can surpass monstrosities like Google at a time like this. Clicker has a deal with Boxee and perhaps it would be in the best interest of the start up to have some kind of back up as being a mere video search engine might just not work, though they seem to be really confident.

The difference between Clickr and Youtube is that YouTube delivers user generated content while Clickr delivers high quality videos. We must wait and watch to see if it even makes it for a couple for months.
