peshawar bomb blast Terror Strike Kills 91 In Pakistan

The terror attacks in Pakistan seem to be getting bolder and increasingly violent. Today, as U.S Secretary Of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton continued her official tour to Pakistan, a car bomb went off in one of the busiest markets in the city of Peshawar, killing 91 people and injuring 200 more. Today’s attack is considered to be the most devastating strike since the terror campaign initiated by the Pakistan Taliban began this month.

The car bomb that ripped through Peshawar today, is believed to be the work of the Pakistan Taliban, who has been fighting a retribution battle, against the Pakistani government and the military for current military offensive being carried out in the South Waziristan region against Al-Qaeda and other terror outfits.

The blast radius and the bomb’s intensity is believed to be very high, as the shock waves from the car bomb demolished a mosque and collapsed other building in the vicinity of the attack. After the bomb strike, wounded people could be seen sitting in the middle of what was left of the market and body parts laid sprawled across the area.

According to one of the survivors,

“There was a deafening sound and I was like a blind man for a few minutes. I heard women and children crying and started to help others. There was the smell of human flesh in the air.”

U.S Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, strongly condemned the terror attack and reassured the Pakistani government and the citizens of United States’ complete support, while praising the military for its offensive in the militant stronghold. In a statement, she said,

“I want you to know this fight is not Pakistan’s alone. These extremists are committed to destroying what is dear to us as much as they are committed to destroying that which is dear to you and to all people. So this is our struggle as well.”
