It has been found that consumption of alcohol in women may raise the risk of cancer. A study suggested that a large glass of wine everyday increases the rise of breast cancer, rectal or liver cancer and throat cancer in women by a quarter.

A glass of wine has around three units of alcohol. A single unit of alcohol is equivalent to one pint of beer. A woman consuming one unit of alcohol everyday has 12 per cent chances of developing one of the cancers mentioned earlier. Drinking a glass of wine or three units of alcohol raised the chances by 15-25 per cent of a woman developing cancer.

Depending of the consumption level of the alcohol, the women are at risk and are found to vary by cancer. Each extra unit of alcohol consumption increased the chances of developing breast cancer by 12 per cent, rectal cancer by 10 per cent, liver cancer by 24 per cent, throat cancer by 25 per cent.

All the wine lovers, and the ladies who consumes alcohol more than safe level, need to be more watchful to reduce heath risks.
