At the CTIA Wireless 2010 conference in Las Vegas, the CEO of Sprint Nextel wireless carrier, Dan Hesse, took the opportunity to introduce the all new HTC Evo 4G smart phone which will be available on the Sprint Nextel network. The Evo 4G is known to be powered by a 1Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and runs Google Android 2.1 mobile operating system, with a 4.3 inch capacitive touch screen. Taking a leading stance on the revolutionary 4G network, the HTC Evo 4G is stated to be a multimedia powerhouse, especially for hose users, who consider their smart phones as multimedia outlets.
Furthermore, the HTC Evo 4G will be heavily tilted towards the social networking revolution, as the device will support content from some of the most cherished social networking services such as, Twitter, Facebook and Flickr and will also be providing Adobe Flash support. So far, the 4G network from Sprint Nextel is available in 27 markets across the United States, with the company planning to expand its reach to cities like Houston, Boston, Washington, D.C., New York City and San Francisco by the end of this year.
According to Peter Chou (CEO, HTC),
“I think the Evo 4G gives a clear indicator of how mobile broadband experience is starting to move beyond the fixed-line broadband experience by what it offers in terms of local and personal relevance.” The HTC Evo 4G plays into that as a “holistic video and multimedia experience. As you know, the mobile video experience hasn’t been really embraced yet due to network speed limitations.”
Sprint has been struggling with immense customer and financial losses and with the 4G network as well as the HTC Evo 4G, the company is planning to rebound its sales and get more customers, so as to revive its previous position.
