Today’s great success in the United States is the TNT original series “The Closer” in which Kyra Sedgwick (Golden Globe winner) is Brenda Johnson, a detective in the department of police of Atlanta moved to a special unit of heinous crimes in Los Angeles.

Despite the fragile appearance, the detective Johnsan was trained by the CIA and was brought due to her special talent: through her unorthodox methods because of her ability to interrogate the suspects, she is able to obtain confessions of most terrible murderers. Hence the nickname of “The Closer.”

At work, Brenda has a great talent to know the secrets of the people and obtain confessions, with skills from the understanding of her own imperfections and neuroses.

When Brenda arrived in Los Angeles, she immediately faces a lifestyle completely different. She strives to leave behind the demons of her past while dealing with co-workers who resent the fact she has passed over many veteran cops to get a high position as deputy chief.

Her strange mannerisms and her “tough woman” way just creates friction with her colleagues, besides the fact of she being a woman in a department dominated by men, is another problem. Although focused on her career, she also tries to get over (unsuccessfully) her passion for chocolates and other candies and rekindled her personal life that was left out.

The third season premiere of this hit series broke the ratings record for basic cable television (almost 9 million viewers) and continues to increase its audience (even the humorous program Saturday Night Live did a parody of this series) and TNT have already ensured that there will be a fourth season.
