Ever thought about a gel filled refrigerator? Russian designer Yuriy Dmitriev did, which brought him to the finals of Electrolux Design Lab. The new conceptual refrigerator is a fresh looking gel filled appliance of the future that does not use Freon.
This cool looking Bio Robot Refrigerator can be mounted on the wall horizontally, vertically or even on the ceiling! The gel does all the work and 90% of the appliance is usable space.
It does not have a motor or other technology like traditional refrigerators. The food is suspended and cooled in the gel once you shove it into its biopolymer gel which is odorless and non-sticky.

How the food is cooled is another cool feature. It uses ‘bio robots’ that are inherent in the gel and use luminance or light that is generated in the cold temperature and preserve food. God alone knows if this fridge will become a reality one day or not. But it definitely is a remarkable concept that uses zero energy for cooling. If it were to be in the market one day, it would save 8% of the household energy which is used up by the present refrigerators.
The fridge is super techy and fun but right but not much is known about how it is going to work. But rest assured we can definitely wait for this nifty gadget.

Wow I thought my 12 volt refrigerator being powered by my solar panels and a battery for storage was futuristic but this takes the cake!! Very impressed with such outside of the box thinking.
