Here is something that might interest you! We have just discovered a watch with an environmental cause called “The Green Watch”. The watch first of its kind is released in Paris allowing the citizens to monitor the environmental quality of their city enabled by the presence of environmental sensors. The citizens who wear the watch can also visualize the aggregated data on a public site.

This is a subtle way of providing the citizens with an opportunity to participate actively in the creation of a more sustainable city. Considering the increased level of the world’s pollution, it is indeed a good way of fighting pollution though at a smaller level. More than anything else, The Green Watch makes the people (at least the citizens of Paris) aware of the quality of their environment.

Every city around the world should adapt this system to help ameliorate the environmental quality of their respective cities. Fing Foundation, who are behind the upcoming LIFT Marseilles conference conceived the “Green Watch/Citypulse” project. I hope Fing Foundation come up with more interesting projects in future.
