The Internet Explorer Flaw: (Yet Another) Fallibility of Microsoft

It was found out the criminals can hijack computers and steal passwords if the user visits an infected website via Internet Explorer. About 10,000 sites have already been accessed this way, mostly China-based. Hackers have been able to obtain computer game passwords to be sold on the black market. In Microsoft’s bid to exist in practically every household in the world, it has overlooked its own abode and backyard.

There are some apparent inadequacies of the Internet Explorer. IE easily stores up memory and keeps it. For the ordinary computer soul, this means slower usage pace. As compared to Firefox, for instance, that can be fun and easy to use with all its add-ons, IE is about a good time late in this regard. IE can hardly be called customizable. Other browsers have certainly outpaced Internet Explorer.

However, the real thing that separates the men from the boys, so to speak, when it comes to browsers is the matter of security. IE failed in this. It might take a while before it can recover user confidence in this regard. The disclosed security breach has certainly made IE a risky browser in the perception of users. Once the best and brightest in the era of non-competition, Internet Explorer is no longer the bright star it used to be. It is high time for Microsoft to look at its own tool room very closely.
