The Mythical Apple Tablet PC Could Finally Launch In June 2010

The ever mysterious Apple Tablet PC that is expected to be unveiled to the world on January 27th, 2010, seems to have run in with some errors and according to an analyst’s estimates, the device could see the light of day by June 2010. Even though the introduction to the famed Apple device is expected this month itself, the Tablet device launch could be delayed till the month of June due to some minor battery and durability concerns. The Applet Tablet PC that is expected to be unveiled next week, is already being termed as a “super” iPod Touch.

However, the proposed launch time frame for the Apple Tablet is not quite surprising, as it is sort of the same manner in which Apple had launched the iPhone way back in the year 2007, with an introduction in January and a final launch in the month of June. According to Shaw Wu (Kaufman Bros.),

“This tablet product has been described to us as a hybrid between an iPhone/ipod touch and a mac but in terms of software and components, it appears closer to the former, meaning it is most likely ARM based. From our understanding, it is not intended to replace a Mac but be somewhat of a ‘super’ iPod touch where video, gaming, Web browsing, e-books and the ability to run multiple apps would be enhanced with the much larger screen.”

As per the estimates and predictions given by Mr. Wu, the Apple Tablet PC could be priced at $999, which is quite the opposite of the the figure of $600 that has been in the news for some time now. However, the increase in price could be because of the various additional components, such as semiconductors, glass, sensors and substrates. There is also the possibility that the primary connectivity option in the Apple Tablet PC could be wifi, as against the 3G connectivity, which is already facing a tough time supporting the increased number of data users.
