Amazingly, despite of not having secured the first position in the ranking below, the Wii game console dominated the list of the best games of 2009 and is responsible for four subsequent positions at the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, indicated as the best game last year.

Wii Sports Resort, New Super Mario Bros, Wii Fit plus Wii Fit and were responsible for more than 26 million copies sold by Nintendo in 2009, according to TechRadar site.

However, it is always good to remember that the ranking considers only the market leaders in the gaming industry – Japan, the United States and Europe – and the values may not represent the total value of worldwide sales of businesses, says the website Shacknews, because countries like China, India, Canada and Brazil are ignored in this listing.

1 – Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Activision), with 11.86 million copies sold;

2 – Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo) – 7:57 million copies sold;

3 – New Super Mario Bros.. Wii (Nintendo) – 7.41 million copies sold;

4 – Plus Wii Fit (Nintendo) – 5.80 million copies sold;

5 – Wii Fit (Nintendo) – 5.44 million copies sold.
