Recession has been playing the spoilt sport for businesses around the world. It has kept many car manufacturers away from this year’s 41st annual Tokyo motor show. This has however given a great chance to a number of eco-friendly two-wheeled vehicles to make up for the absence of the car manufacturers. Some of the electric bikes of all shapes and sizes will attract a lot of attention from the crowd.

The show will witness some cool electric bikes that can run for nearly 50 kilometers with just one time charge. It can speed up to 30 kilometers per hour. Motorcycle giant, Yamaha gained a lot of fame when they developed an electrically assisted bicycle, the first of its kind. This time, they are launching their latest model “PAS” for about $1,000.

Satomi Okumura, the PR of Yamaha Motors is confident that the potential of the electric two-wheeled vehicle in the international market will be recognized in the long run. Yamaha Motors also exhibited conceptual electric commuter vehicles, which have futuristic designs focused on appealing to a wide range of age groups.

If you were thinking you do not exactly have the best looking bike with you, you may want to remove all the spokes and call it a cool new bike. Well, that is what the biker boys at Amen Design think. based on Franco Sbarro’s hubless wheels, they have created a chopper which comes with increased braking leverage, more accurate steering, decreased unsprung weight, reduced structural stress and other advantages.

However, the main reason behind the bike has to be the look of the bike. It looks pretty cool but if you are planning to ride it in a manner that would take you around easily, you might want to forget.

This bike looks kinda cool and weird, but was never meant to be ridden on an everyday-basis in spite of all the advantages. It is too complicated to ride a bike like this! Nevertheless, you could go ahead and take a look at the video and see for yourselves how it might look when being ridden.

2010 Triumph Rocket III Roadster is a bike that is yet to be released, as the name suggests. If you are the kind of guy who would die for those futuristic mean machines in order to blaze the highways, you would definitely like this helluva bike.

The price is yet to be announced and would be one of the most powerful of the Triumph series. It comes with a 2.3 litre 3 cylinder monster and also with 146 horsepower and 165 lb-ft torque. When you ride this bike, you will surely stop all the traffic, and you would immediately have fans wanting to ride pillion.

There is no way a cool biker could look away from this cooler bike. Considering the kind of look it’s got, it would definitely be quite expensive, trust me. Nevertheless, it seems like a really good option to buy when it is released next year. So keep your fingers crossed and pray that it is released asap.

We have just discovered an unusual bike called “Bergmoench” designed by Koga. The unique feature of this bike is that it can be folded into a backpack. The bike has been designed to make it compact and lightweight to help the trekkers climb hills and mountains. When going down the hill or the mountain, the trekkers can simply use the bike and enjoy a good ride.

However, the bike doesn’t have pedals, and hence, it cannot be ridden like a proper bicycle. It doesn’t have a seat either. Nevertheless, with the help of its brakes and foot rests, you can still manage to go down the hill or the mountain smoothly. The attached backpack comes with space for extra things like a helmet and food.

I wouldn’t deny that this design is creative and interesting but it needs to be ameliorated further. For instance, it needs to have pedals and seats. I wonder why they were not included when they would have made all the difference to the riders. I hope Koga quickly looks into these matters and upgrade the bike.

Two German Designers, Tom Mudra and Hans Tobias Schicktanz recently designed a new E-Bike called the ‘Mosquito’. Well, the name is perhaps a tad unique. The designers’ aim was to create a lightweight and attractive E-Bike, which will be suitable for urban places. The motor definitely looks very cool but it’s quite uncertain whether this will really be suitable for urban areas.

The motor is powered by lithium batteries that cost about 50p to charge. It has got a range of about 60 km (37 miles) with a maximum speed of 50 km/h (31 miles). This is really not too bad for just an E-Bike. Mosquito comes with a removable center pole, which makes it comfortable for the rider.

Most of the parts used in the Mosquito are easily available at conventional bike stores. This makes it easy for you to maintain, and also repair the bike at a minimum cost quite conveniently.  There is no mention about the price tag. I hope it’s not too expensive. I have been planning for quite too long to buy an E-Bike for myself; I guess Mosquito will do me good.

This concept bike was never meant to be a real motorcycle- it was just an outlet for Ankit’s design exercise where he let his imagination go wild. For one, the bike is fuelled by atomic energy and also has an afterburner. And two, only a superhero will be able to take it off the stand!

“I set out to shape a motorcycle between two wheels and there it is. Although these wheels were first bike and see how they have done to live up to the design”, says Ankit. Ankit says that the Cloud Bike is not a realistic design but a motorcycle comic. He is happy to transfer the rights incase someone wants to do a comic with it. His dream, however, remains to design a bike for an Indian firm like Bajaj or Hero Honda.
Ankit was also noticed a couple of years ago with his Ram 1000 in a contest sponsored by Aprilia. Ankit is a programming expert and is pursuing studying art in New Delhi.

 New mothers wait so very excitedly to take their young ones out and when they eventually get round to doing so, they find that things are a little harder than they expected. Going out for a stroll will a toddler can be quite tough; a stroller is of no use when you get tired of walking around and want to take a seat.

A stroller is what every young mother opts for when considering a day out with their child but Lotta Tu’s version of the stroller is so much better. This two in one stroller can transform into a bike so that when you get tired of just pushing your kid around, you can just get on the bike and speed away. The Baby-Going baby stroller is also an electric scooter that would be ideal for a few hours out with a young child.

The seat for the rider does look slightly uncomfortable, especially if you plan on taking this out for more than just a spin. However, the idea is simplistic and quite well thought out and many mothers would appreciate this if it ever became a product.

Of all the vehicles I know, the cycle is one of the most romantic and naive vehicles I have come across. If the cycle is ridden by someone good looking all the much better! The Shocker Chopper is a cool new bike designed by Team Tentakulus and is a real eye catcher.

It has a pure, clean and plain design which looks pretty much outlandish for a cycle. If you get hold of this bike, you could look just as happy as this guy here does! Of course, there isn’t anything particularly cool or special about this bike, but the design is minimalist and chic. If you take a good look at the guy here, you would see the joy on his face, and why not!

The wind blowing in your face, the sun on your skin and no one to bother you when you are riding such an awesome bicycle; I guess, that is what life is all about! I wonder when this cycle would be released, and when it would actually be manufactured in the first place. Maybe we should just wait and watch, and admire the ridden and the rider like we can here in these pictures.

It’s not every day that an amazingly beautiful motorbike comes out. Designers know just what would titillate the fanatic bikers’ senses and are well tuned to providing a materialistic interpretation of all their desires.

Kawasaki is no newbie when it comes to creating beautiful bikes but their 1400 GTR is more than just beautiful, it may be the next big thing to hit the roads. With sleek line s designed to cut through air at breathless speed, the GTR also has some cool additions to make it appealing for the tech-freaks. Rear view mirrors come attached with infrared cameras that would give the rider night vision. The rider can use the onboard LCD or the heads-up display (HUD) integrated into the helmet for viewing. Talk about a rad design!

The infrared cameras can also detect heat signatures from about 300mts away and would work as a warning system for the rider. This warning may be conveyed to the rider via a Bluetooth alarm attached to the helmet. The 6 speed bike has a ZZR1400 engine  and is set to dazzle this autumn.
