The ever popular PopoPlug hard drive sharing device manufactured by Cloud Engines Inc. has finally been given a much needed upgrade and the all new PopoPlug now sports the support for upto four simultaneous USB hard drives, that can now be attached to the device and their contents can then be shared on the web.

The all new PopoPlug device is available for $129 and entails no service fee and keeping in tune to the social networking revolution, it also has integrated Twitter and Facebook services. Water is the most essential source of living. Millions of life has been affected in the past and it still continues to do so in many parts of the world due to scarcity of water. Nevertheless, we do at times become careless and waste a large amount of water in our everyday use. Sometimes, a large quantity of water goes to waste due to leakage problem in the bathroom or the kitchen tap. In order to control this problem, an electronic device called “H2Orb” has been designed.

It functions pretty simple. The device is attached to the water valve behind the toilet. A single float sensor hangs inside the toilet tank. Whenever there is a leak, the device automatically shuts off the water and alerts the user about the leak by sending an immediate alarm via the LCD screen attached on the device.

The H2Orb is operated on a single 3V lithium coin battery. It’s a good idea to own this device and save this precious resource from being scarce in the future. This is a very minimal contribution towards the environment that one can easily do from their home itself.

One of the premier computer hardware manufacturing companies, OCZ has announced the launch  of its latest high capacity solid state hard drives that come in 128 GB and 1 TB (Terabytes) storage capacity. These new SSDs are part of the all new Colossus series from OCZ. The speculations about the high capacity solid state drives had been in circulation since the month of August this year, but the confirmation of the shipments of these components have only now been confirmed.

The all new Colossus series of solid state drives come in 3.5 inch casings and are available in 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage capacity and is a one step ahead of the existing 2.5 inch SSD hard drives. Even though there isn’t mention of the price range for these products, the fact remains that pricing of these products won’t be affordable for the average user as SSD hard drives are always a costly proposition.

According to Eugene Chang (V.P, Product Management, OCZ),

“The new Colossus Series is designed to boost desktop and workstation performance and is for high power users that put a premium on speed, reliability and maximum storage capacity. The Colossus core-architecture is also available to enterprise clients with locked BOMs (build of materials) and customized firmware to match their unique applications.”

The newly launched OCZ high capacity SSD hard drives are also a perfect fit for the original equipment manufactures (OEM) as they now have a hos of options to provide their customers with.

XERO has introduced an electronic skateboard that is battery powered and is uniquely remote controlled by a gun. The remote control that controls the movements of the skateboard is itself in the form of a radio gun. The XERO electronic skateboard accelerates up to 14 miles per hour and has a total battery endurance of up to 13.5 hours.

The occupant of the this marvelous skateboard can experience  burst of speed on the device that, propels the skateboard from 0 to 20 miles an hour in just 4 seconds, a claim that is in complete contradiction with the maximum speed of the skateboard.

The XERO electronic skateboard consumes about three to four hours for a complete recharge of its batteries and is available for $360 for the high end model. However, the eBoard Junior and eBoard Flow models of the electronic skateboard have been priced at $199 and $249 respectively. The all new skateboard is made from environmental friendly materials and uses rubber tires for maximum traction on road.

This latest addition to the long list of electronic or battery powered skateboards is unique in itself due to its technology and the velocity that can be achieved from an electronic skateboard.

However, thanks to a leak, consumers across the globe have now come to know about the all new ThinkPad Edge and ThinkPad  X100e series notebooks.

Lenovo it seems has put an awful lot of stress on segregating its upscale line of ThinkPad Business Notebooks and the IdeaPads which are much more targeted towards the users who prefer to use notebooks for more personal use. Along with these two strata of the user base, the ones who use notebooks for their small businesses, Lenovo has stuck to the Edge series of notebooks.

Considering the current usage of notebooks and the increasing competition in the market, the company has decided to keep the prices quite affordable with the starting range of the notebooks fixed at $549. The AMD powered notebooks will be given a Turion X2 L625 (1.6 GHz) Athlon Neo X2 L325 (1.5 GHz) processors, with a AMD Athlon 780G Chipset. These notebooks come with 4GB of RAM and 500 GB of hard disk space along with Wifi, Bluetooth, LAN, Webcam and multitouch features. Microsoft Windows 7 Home and Premium Edition are available with the Lenovo ThinkPad Edge series.

As far as the processor and chipset requirements are concerned, the ThinkPad x100e series will be powered by the same processing units and will be equipped with 4GB RAM, a 500 GB hard disk, Wifi, LAN and Bluetooth. The x100e series notebooks will weigh around 1.5 kilograms and will also feature Bluetooth and Microsoft Windows 7 Starter, Home Premium and Home Basic Editions.

Stantum which is a leading manufacturer of touch enabled devices has announced an all new tablet PC, that is based entirely on the platform used by Dell In0spiron Mini 10. The all new tablet PC is yet another proof of concept prototype that, the company has designed and developed to prove that notebooks can be 100% operational, without the need of keyboard and a trackpad.

The tablet PC from Stantum might be considered as a revolution in the field of touch screen notebooks, but the demo product that has is available for purchase via the Stantum website could prove to be far less appealing to the consumers. This is largely due to the fact that, the tablet PC makers have overlooked the importance of Wifi and Bluetooth and have left them off the device.

The Stantum Tablet PC sports a 10.1 inch touch sensitive screen with a resolution of 1024×600 or 1024×576 and a screen aspect ratio of 16:9. The tablet PC will be running on the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system. The technology behind the new tablet PC involves the trademark Pmatrix, which is a multi detection protocol devised by Stantum. The price and the date of the launch of the Stantum Tablet PC hasn’t been released yet, but it is expected to be released in the year 2010.
