Toshiba K01 QWERTY Smart Phone Goes Through FCC Checks

The Toshiba K01 smart phone that has been the talk of the web has now provided the Federal Communication Commission with some specifications in regards to its operating frequencies. The K01 a QWERTY keyboard sporting mobile device that, as per the specification submitted to FCC, will operate on 850/900/1800/1900 GSM/EDGE frequencies, thus making it an ideal candidate for AT&T and T-Mobile’s networks.

It has also been observed that. The K01 could very well be gearing up for an introduction in the European and Asian markets, as he device will also carry support for UMTS Bands I and VIII. The Toshiba K01 is powered by a 1Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, along with a 4.1 inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen. The device also features expandable memory via a memory card slot, that supports up to 32 GB and also a variety of connectivity options including Wifi, GPS and Bluetooth.

This all new smart phone could easily become a stark competitor to the HTC HD2, especially because of the dual input methods of both a touch screen and a QWERTY keyboard. Furthermore, both the handsets sport the 1Ghz processor speed and this in turn could spark a race between the two devices.
