
Toy Soldier Campaign by Amnesty International, Croatia is shocking. The whole war, conflicts, weapons and cruel executions have become a toy story indeed. Something that goes on and no and one really tries to stop. No one even gives a thought that it is being played out in front of children and a whole generation thus gets desensitized and grows up to be hateful.
The print campaign is designed by Croatian agency Hype. The message of the campaign – “In the eyes of a Somali child, war is barely a game” is realistic. Apart from conflicts and killing, horrific human executions are a cruel reality in Somalia. War has become barely a game not just for children but for perpetrators too. Amnesty International, human rights activists and aid workers can really bring back smile and childhood of these young Somali children. They can also campaign and mobilize support to end the gruesome executions and conflicts. Hope this campaign gets lot of volunteer and financial support.
Social awareness campaigns such as these do bring home gruesome reality of faraway lands. In a world where wars and conflicts have been reduced to just developing news and breaking news it is heartening to see human right activists still carrying torch of hope.
