Toyota Motors To Take Apple Inc. Co-founder’s Car For Further Testing

Ever since the launch of the all new 2010 Toyota Prius, the luxury car has been marred by a glitch that can in certain cases prove to be quite costly. We are talking about the unintentional acceleration of the Toyota Prius, when driving in cruise mode. When a vehicle is in cruise control mode, the throttle of the car automatically takes over and keeps the speed of the vehicle as desired by the driver, thus maintaining a constant velocity. However, the unintentional acceleration problem with the new 2010 Toyota Prius makes the vehicle accelerate more than the preset speed and that too all of sudden, creating dangerous situations for drivers, especially on highways and in cities.

The co-founder of Apple Inc. Steve Wozniak is also facing a similar problem with his brand new Toyota Prius and at the Discovery Forum 2010, Steve stated that he could infact duplicate the problem and that the concern was not hardware related, but the software of the cruise control is flawed. Problematic software in regards to acceleration of a vehicle isn’t something new, but due to the experience of Mr. Wozniak in the field of software and technology, the error has now come into the spotlight.

So what does Toyota intends to do? The company has now offered to take Steve’s car for further testing and analysis, in an effort to diagnose the problem and then fix the concern.
