One of the most anticipated sequels for the year 2009, Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen stood up to its speculated success and has grossed over $201.2 million in tickets across North American movie theaters in a record five days of its release.
Last year, with Christian Bale in the lead role, The Dark Knight grabbed over $203.8 million in ticket sales and broke various box office records and recorded itself as the biggest blockbuster in movie history with over a $1 billion in global sales. Now in 2009, the Transformers sequel all set to give The Dark Knight a a run for its money. In other parts ODF the world, Transformers:Revenge of The Fallen scored $186 million in its first five opening days.

So far, Hollywood has seen a fairly good fiscal year with the release of new movies such as Star Trek, Up and two highly anticipated sequels, Terminator Salvation and X Men:Wolverine.
The storyline of Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen is fairly the same as before. The evil Decepticons return to earth in search of a power source, whose location is known only to the film’s protagonist Sam Witwicky, played by Shia LaBeouf. In another battle between good and evil, the Autobots join forces with Sam and other and human security forces to defeat the Decepticons and save planet earth. Inspite of the same old storyline, the computer generated graphics and a craze for the Transformers series have been dragging movie goers out pf their couched and to the cinema halls.
The sequel also introduces two new robots, Skids and Mudflap who have been depicted as illiterates and talk in the form of swing music and early jazz styles. Also, one of them is shown to have a golden tooth.

The total sales for Hollywood so far this year has been about $5.13 billion, that is about a 12% increase from the sales figures of last year for the same time period.
