Lazing in the park could take a totally different meaning, if the Boombench designed by Michael Schoner of NL Architects comes into the market. These benches can play your favorite music saved in your cellphone via bluetooth. All that one needs to do is carry the cellphone and sit on the bench and the ultra modern benches will play the music loud in the public place for everyone to hear.

However, I fail to understand why everyone would want to hear the music someone sitting on this particular bench would like to hear. The bench totally looks cool and in my opinion is best suited in a private garden or perhaps a club where the feeling of intrusion is less, if you play loud music. I wouldn’t like to listen to certain kinds of music when I am out taking a walk in the park. So wouldn’t you, would you?

Well, the designers have been creating weird devices such as this, which would not only attract attention but also make people wonder if there is any functional value in them. However, the Boombench concept looks cool and if they are fitted in private gardens, then it would be a fun way to spend a morning in the sun.
