As a way to give more robustness to the service, Twitter announces it will move its operations to a data center itself, designed to meet the demands imposed by the company, which registers about 300,000 new users per day.
The announcement came a day after the Twitter experience an interruption in services, which prevented users from connecting or sending messages on the site. Possibly switching to a data center itself should not resolve all the problems the company – such as failure to access the database, which was the great motivator of failure in the system this week. However, there is an expectation that the new environment will help to better manage the user base of microblogging.
“We are working on long-term solutions to make Twitter a more reliable and stable platform. It’s our number one priority. The bulk of Our engineering Efforts are currently Focused on this issue, and We Have moved resources from other projects to focus on it ” said the Twitter blog.
Also from the data center itself, the company will be able to configure the system and make adjustments more quickly.
The data center will be installed in the region of Salt Lake City (United States). The company reports that it is an environment designed from the concept of sustainability for this, one concern was to reduce cooling and power consumption.
