Twitter is a fever, with millions of people posting their small sentences every minute. But who or what is really updating information on Twitter?
A report published by the company of intelligence of businesses Sysomos affirmed that 24% of the messages of Twitter come from robots of the internet.
When just the most actives users are analyzed, the number of robots grows 32%, they are among the 5% that more posts acting. Those “ghost users” send up to 150 messages a day.
In a previous research, published in June, it was discovered that 10% of the users are responsible for 90% of the content in Twitter. With the new research, it is deduced that great part of those 10% is, actually, robots.
The robots, or bots, are apps done to simulate human actions to a much higher rate than it would be possible for an alone human. They are use in the internet mainly to send spams, and they are becoming a headache every time larger for the users of the net.
Other lifted up data for Sysomos shows that 88% of the most active users don’t pass one day without sending at least a tweet, but all send less than a message a day, as announced by Times Online.
