The Twitter has become explosive weapon against censorship.

Sometimes, as in Iran, was the only weapon available to the dissent. And many governments, such as Chinese, fear it. So on Monday, when ethnic violence erupted in Xinjiang, the Twitter has been blocked.
Photos, videos and testimony began to run frantically from the network. But this tool has not yet taken citizens off the street.

The media and news agencies, which have their journalists censured, if not been expelled from Iran, baptized the phenomenon of the Twitter revolution. The weekly “The Economist” summarized in a headline: “Twitter 1, CNN 0″.

So far, these networks have many qualities. But the analysis of how social networks operate in contexts of crisis begins to emerge the skepticism. Or rather, there is a  general moderation in enthusiasm.

Twitter is speed and intensity. On Facebook, to join a cause is also simple.

The idea that there is a minority in the Iran using as spies, trying to influence the government or misinform is a possibility, but the analysts to consider with caution.

Many countries try to control the network. China, for example, postponed last week its idea to incorporate each computer that is sold a filter to block pages. The official argument is that it would stop child pornography. The Internet and the organizations of human rights say that it is pure and raw censorship.

The ambition to influence the network is inoculated in any politician. But those wishing to censor fail in the long term.
