UAE to Offer Domain Names in Arabic

dubai name UAE to Offer Domain Names in Arabic

Internet has always had English as the only language for domain names. The .com part of the URL or Uniform resource Locator has to be in English and only China had tried to experiment with the idea of using a language other than English but met with very little success. However, UAE is all set to begin offering domain names in Arabic after an agreement was made with Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).

While this might please the language zealots, it might pose new problems to world security and order. It is always difficult for people to even know the existence of sites that do not have domain names written in the Latin script. It might become very easy for clandestine organizations to hide under the cover of other languages which are not easily accessible.

Of course, since it is on the Internet, you should be able to access those sites anyway. However, if your keyboard does not allow you to type the entire URL, how could one imagine browsing or accessing sites that are named in languages other than those that use the Latin script? I am sure many people would like to know, and I am certainly sceptical about it.
