Finally curtains are coming down on all kinds of campaigns and anti-campaigns carried out by two rivals in US polls. Only final result will tell as to whose campaign has been more successful. But high point of US polls has been anti-campaigns and not campaigns themselves!

Here is one fine example of anti-campaign. It seems Elizabeth Dole fabricated a whole myth ad campaign against key opponent Kay Hagan. This video, which shows Kay Hagan declaring ‘There is no God’, was probably meant to project democrat candidate as an atheist and non-believer.  It was a message for believers to choose their candidate on the basis of faith and beliefs.

Do these anti-campaigns work? Maybe they do in a sense. They do generate TRPs, gossip, newsbytes, and page traffic. They are good for generating revenue that is. They may not serve the actual publicity purpose. In fact this particular anti-campaign gave Elizabeth Dole a bad publicity for fabricating the whole video!

Anti-campaigns may look trendy and interesting. But they do reveal negative spirit. Show your good points rather than pointing out rival’s bad points!
