When you first bought your computer, you might have just heard the name of a chip and thought that is what you had to buy, because that was what you were told. Most people even now have been relying upon the names of highly technical products without understanding what the products really do.
This is especially so in the world of computers where companies like Intel, AMD compete with each other not on the basis of how the product works, but the bizarre names that are ascribed to their products. Some may call these jargonists too much of a “gobbledygook”. It is quite true too, and the industry is fast changing and consumers no longer like to purchase things based on the name of a product or the jargon, but what the jargon actually means is more important.
Thus, the new market trends indicate that companies will now have to be friendlier with consumers and use less jargon as that may actually be the worst enemy for the companies. It would be interesting to see how these things develop, and there is an interesting and comprehensive article on the NY Times, on the same subject.
