Like we have mentioned earlier, during times of difficulties, people try to spend more and live life luxuriously, in a state of denial. Now that the recession has reached even the nooks and corners of the world, it shouldn’t be surprising to find an almost unnecessary gadget in your kitchen. If the previous rangehood bored you to death, why not have a TV fixed to it?
Australia’s ILVE has got an Italian to design the VELA rangehood which comes with a 10″ LCD monitor. The catch is, you may need to crane your neck to watch the sleek looking LCD TV which would be perched close to the roof, unless you want your rangehood at nostril levels. The funnier part would be the AV inputs to connect a DVD player.
It is also expected to sell at a premium price, so if you have loads of cash still stashed in your bank, and you want to forget the recession blues, get yourself the VELA rangehood. However, I would spend on something more unassuming like a year’s supply of beer or a real good flat screen TV that can be hung on the wall of the kitchen, so that I can watch some cooking program without craning my neck to look at the roof.
