Since the launch of Apple iPhone and iPod Touch, users have been extremely happy about the all new applications service that Apple started, known as Apple Apps Store. This online library, provides users with more than 65,000 free and paid applications, to carry along in their Apple mobile devices.

Now, Verizon Wireless, that is one of the leading wireless network providers in the United States has announced that it would soon be coming out with its very own Vcast application store, that would give a stark competition to Apple Apps Store. Verizon’s application store is expected to provided an expansive platform for applications developers to share and get financial benefits for their applications. The Vcast Application Store will be introduced to the users in the Q4 of this year.

According to Lowell McAdam (CEO, Verizon Wireless),

“It’s a new day (in wireless). And our future success is no longer in the walled-garden. Our success is tied to you (developers).”

Most of the other brands such as Apple, Nokia, RIM etc. who have their own application stores, create applications as per the market trends, that sometimes do not gel well with a particular strata of users. On the other hand, Vcast Application Store, will not only provide the most popular applications, but will also have the authority to disclose cell phone subscribers and their personal data to the developers, in order to create more customized applications for users.
