Italian designer, Versace, the haute couture line is now set to widen it clientele lists. The Versace group will soon relaunch the second line Versus, a line covering both the women’s wear and the men’s wear.
The designer clothing line has signed a deal with the Italian company Gruppo Facchini, which is also into clothing, hotels and art. The clothing line and the accessories collection will be marketed by 2011 in 20 different locations all over the world.
The diversification in the product line will cater to those people who aspire to own Versace clothes. Versus line will mainly cater to a different range of audience as is expecting a turnover of 700 million euros plus. While Versace has remained a red carpet favorite among celebrities with its extremely luxurious gowns and dresses, the Versus line will be positioned as an aspiration brand and more accessible.
Versace’s strategy to cover a different audience, other than its high end customers will surely roll out more than the expected profit margins. The target audiences are those who are aspiring to be a part of the niche market; however the financial constraint has often failed them. Versus brand can leverage this opportunity to capture a whole new market and create a strong customer base in this segment.
