The line between reality and the virtual world is apparently getting more and more blurred with rapid technological advancements. That part of modern science is straight forward enough to understand. But there comes a point when the lines become so bizarrely blurred that they just start making absolutely no sense. A Japanese woman was recently arrested by the cops because she murdered her virtual husband in an online game by using his password which she got when they were married. If you think that they were married, then wrong again as they were married only in the virtual world! Confusing? Told you the lines were very thin and blurred.
A guy divorced a woman (not in reality) in the popular online game called ‘Maple Story’. The woman got so pissed off that she used the password he gave her when they were happily married (again not in reality) to commit his murder and post his online death! The woman was caught after a complaint was lodged and is now waiting to be formally charged and could face up to five years in prison or a fine of $5,000!
This is probably the most ridiculous piece of news you will hear in sometime. Firstly, why would anyone want to get married even in the virtual world? Is the pain not bad enough in the real one? Secondly, change your passwords when you get a divorce. Even if it is not a real one. The police have some report to write on this and I would like to see the look on judge’s face when he hears all this along with arguments. Reality TV with virtual crime amounts to superb entertainment!
