Well, the Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and like most things in today’s fast paced and organized lifestyle, this day of love and togetherness is also very much bathed in the intricacies of etiquette and planning, to ensure the prevention of any unfortunate event on one of the most important days of the year. Many people believe that on Valentine’s Day, the occasion is all related to cards, flowers chocolates and kisses, but what these misguided souls are unaware of, is extent of planning and right timing that needs to be out to make this day a memorable one for the entire year.
If there is one thing that annoys most people during a date is the ringing of a cell phone, a beep from a beeper and most crudest of all, texting. It quite understandable that, cell phones are one of the most important and necessary instruments of communication, but you can minimize the annoyance of an interrupting call during a private romantic moment, by putting your cell phone off the ringer, if not entirely switch it off.
On February 14th, do not wait for the moment to hit the clock, instead head for a good cards store and buy your beloved a nice card well in advance of the D-Day, even if you give it to her on the occasion. This would certainly help you in getting a variety of beautiful and meaningful cards, rather than the last minute, dumb and at times senseless cards. The V-Day for centuries has been all about flowers. Even with the emerging new technologies and other venues, the flowers will never be parted from this occasion and thus, it would be great ideal to send the lovely lady a bunch of red roses, that stand for Love or you can even go for pink, yellow, and white roses, denoting admiration, happiness, and friendship. But, if you wish to go that extra step, then the best way to impress the lady would be send her a bouquet of her favorite flowers.
That said, now comes the etiquette that are must for Valentine’s Day. Though these table manners are very are applicable in our daily lives, still they become doubly important on an occasion such as Valentine’s Day. It would be wise to open the door for the lady, pull back the chair for her to sit in and strike a delightful and romantic conversation at the dinner table. Even if it’s your first date, these small thing can really make a huge difference and change the course of your relationship for the next 364 days.
