Those who need to use the Adobe Air platform know that it is not the most efficient use of processor and RAM. The client for Twitter called Twhril, is constantly being between 60 and 80 MB of memory each (at least was never 670).

Chris Cantrell, a leading developer platform, announced on Thursday (29) a long list of improvements that will be deployed on Adobe Air 2.0 and among these improvements are included to support multi-touch, IPv6, better use of cycle’s processor and less use of RAM.

There is still no date for the release of version 2.0 of the platform, but Chris says that a beta version of it will be available later this year through Adobe Labs and the complete version should be ready before the first half of next year. Meanwhile, version 1.5 remains the most current.
