Google’s Android platform might just replace Microsoft Windows as the queen of operating systems for even PCs. Apparently, Matthaus Krykowski and Daniel Hartmann have found that Android can work better than Windows on Asus EEE PC. The shocking revelation may change the way we view Google as just a web leader. Google may have designed the Android to function not only for cell phones, but also for net books and ultimately the desktop industry.
Industry analysts point out that the Android runs on Linux platform and anything that runs on Linux is almost always more versatile and could be used on other platforms. This may make Android more versatile than other OS and may soon be the driving force behind Google Desktops that may soon be unveiled.
With Google Chrome already attacking the dying Internet Explorer it is only a few months that Google will be able to take on Microsoft up front. The Open Source community will not regret this either, for nobody seems to be particularly in love with Microsoft and their products. We just have to wait for a few months before we hear an official statement about a Google Desktop in the making.
