Although it has had a great marketing for the speed to inicialize and to turn off Windows 7, it seems, in some cases, that the new Microsoft system can be longer than the previous, Windows Vista, which was quite criticized by its slowness.

It is what affirms Iolo Technologies, company that developed the program for “tune-up” for PCs, System Mechanic. Their experts proved that Windows 7 takes 1 minute and 34 seconds to become usable, while it only Vista takes 1 minute and 6 seconds.

In the research, it was not measured the time in that the work area takes to appear (that can be of less than 40 seconds in a recent installation of Windows 7) but the time that takes to carry all the programs in second plan and to turn fully usable.

According to the news site CNET, the researchers affirm that Windows 7 exhibits the image of the work area in advance to make up its time of boot, that actually is well longer.

Another characteristic of the system is that it worsens with the time. A machine with Windows 7 and 3 months of use can take to 2 minutes and 34 seconds to begin. Windows 7 was shown better than Vista in the comparisons of 3 to 6 months of use, but it is very behind in the initialization tests in new facilities.

Although it still doesn’t possess all of the information on how the results were reached, that report is not positive for an operating system that brings as its strong point and strategy marketing of having a better performance than old versions.
