The Microsoft Corporation has announced that the launch of its new operating system, Windows 7 has been extremely well received by the pubic and the software is doing great in the market. The launch of Windows 7 had been highly anticipated and hardware manufacturers across the globe went into an upgrade frenzy, to ensure that their devices are Windows 7 compatible. Some experts had said, that Windows 7 would be more than an operating system, it will be a phenomenon.

The global recession and the tarnished reputation of Microsoft due the the Windows Vista debacle had many cast serious doubts over the success of the new OS. However, as promised by Microsoft, Window 7 deliver exactly what it said it would. In addition to the user friendliness of the OS and the fact that, the global economy has begun to recover, users have been more than willing to shed $200 for Windows 7. Microsoft CEO, Steve Ballmer has stated that, the new operating system will be quick enough to make users accept it as the primary OS for their systems. But the corporates might take bit of a time to adjust themselves to Windows 7. Still, the sales figures so far have quite encouraging.

Windows 7 has been an upgrade to Windows Vista, an OS that was initially termed as revolutionary, but was later despised by almost every expert and analyst who had ever used Windows Vista. Vista required extremely high hardware configurations, rejected most of the software and was considered to be extremely intrusive by users around the world.
