Hotel Hubertus, a wellness resort in Italy is now home to one of the world’s scariest swimming pool. The pool is perfect for thrill seekers or those who want adventure on their vacation. If you are looking for a place to hang out or swim, you might want to consider the pool in Italy that is making headlines.
The 82ft long pool is part of the Hotel Hubertus, a skier’s and hiker’s getaway located in South Tyrol, Italy. Tourists and local travelers can enjoy the controversial swimming pool when they stay at the resort. The swimming pool is hanging on larch tree trunks that overlook the beautiful Dolomite Mountains. It is named after the scariest pool in the world not only because it is 40 feet above the ground pool but the fact that it had a terrifying glass glazed bottom.
The epic swimming pool is designed by Architect Lukas Rungger of Architecture Studio Noa. The cantilevered freshwater pool had glass paneled sides and a glass window in the floor, which gives swimmers a clear view of the bottom or what lies on the ground. The height of the pool and glass window bottoms can make you feel like you are swimming in the sky. When in the pool, swimmers will notice the glass front gives a surreal feeling as boundaries blurred between the landscape and the pool. It is further improved by the anthracite sides of the swimming pool which perfectly matches the colors of the surroundings. According to Architect Rungger, “For the design of the pool, we were driven by the aim to blur the physical limits to create an element, which is interweaving with the landscape, mirroring the clouds and framing panoramic views.”
Guests can plunge into the pool’s fresh mountain water and float in the infinity pool that is just above the Dolomite Panorama. The daredevils might be tempted to take on the controversial pool, but for others, the resort has rooms and 16 Alpine suites that are free from vertiginous glass panels. The resort also boasts a spa, six indoor and outdoor pool, lounge and restaurants that serve gastronomic dishes.
