In what could be described as a new kind of colonial subservience, resulting from an economic colonization, India may have to bow down to what the Americans would say about troop positioning in Kashmir, after the Mumbai attack. After India started to build up troops along the border, Pakistan threatened the west that they would remove all the troops from Pakistan’s western border with Afghanistan and position them across Indian border.
One official even claimed that the War on Terror wouldn’t be a priority if India didn’t back out. The threat is aimed at making the US hard talk with Indian authorities to remove its troops from the Kashmir border with Pakistan. Now if that happens, Indians are likely to listen to the American government which would be quite shameful indeed.
Indians lately have been quite submissive and subservient when it comes to the US and its policies. It would be interesting what happens in the next two days and how the governments of US and India would react to the Pakistani threat. Looks like the entire South Asian region is tumbling down a downward spiral to meet chaos.
