If you had enough money, you wouldn’t be spending it on a racing game or flying planes on some cranky old simulator.   To get the real thrill of flying, you must go buy yourself the real deal.

Bonhams is well known for auctioning off some strange products. One lucky person managed to buy himself a two seater aircraft from the Bonhams auction at the RAF Museum, London, on the 20th of this month. The Vickers-Supermarine MkIX Spitfire was sold for £1,739,500 to Steven Brooks, a British adventurer. The Spitfire which came from a private source is in mint condition and ready to fly. The Spitfire is the second of the two WWII Spitfires to have been sold by Bonhams in the past seven months.

The Spitfire was a part of the Bonhams Collectors Motor Car Sale. Brooks who now owns it is a polar adventurer so his next adventure may have to fly off to the Poles in his new plane.
