The micro blogging service Yahoo Meme which is provided by Yahoo Inc. has now been launched in Chinese language amid a ban in China, a country that has been known to hammer down on social networks and blogging websites. The all new Chinese Meme service is now displayed in traditional Chinese characters that are readily identifiable by the local populace.
Social networking has fast found a foundation in China, a country that has the largest number of internet users in the world, out of which more than 120 million Chinese users have an online presence in one of the top social networks. Micro blogging has also been seen to have gained immense popularity in China and major Chinese portals along with Chinese search engine Baidu.com and Microsoft have already introduced several micro blogging services to the users.
However, the Chinese internet regulators have already banned most of the micro blogging service such as Twitter as well as mainstream social networks such as Facebook. With such restrictions and bans in place, Yahoo Meme could be looking towards quite hard times ahead. The Chinese version of the micro blogging service can’t be accessed as of now from China, along with several other micro blogging websites.
