You Tube video-sharing site has been blocked in China because of the videos posted on the sites. Apparently a footage showing Chinese soldiers beating up monks and Tibetans was posted by a Tibetan exile group. In the present information age such blockage can hardly suppress news. Though it is yet to be confirmed officially but it seems Chinese authorities have resorted to censorship once again.

Tibet-China issues are once again in the limelight. As China continues to deny freedom to Tibetans it is feared that horrific videos of men and monks being kicked and beaten in a Tibetan monastery by Chinese troops could be real life footage of present day atrocities being carried out in Tibet. The censorship in fact validates that fact that China is using unlawful means to suppress voices and Tibetan freedom movement.

Chinese authorities always have made futile effort to censor news and information flowing in and out of its borders. It was evident even during Olympics.  The truth spilling out of the region may only be the tip of the iceberg. The much of real atrocities remain buried and unreported.
