Video sharing website YouTube has only been around for a little over four years but the demand for the website and the number of hits that it receives everyday makes it one of the hottest sites currently on the net. Everything from personal videos to official advertisements, songs, movies, and more can be found on the site.

Since the site was bought by Google three years ago, the popularity of the site has only continued to increase. YouTube is celebrating their biggest achievement to date, crossing the one billion mark of hits per day. Receiving over a billion views everyday couldn’t have been an easy job and co-founder Chad Hurley is proud enough of this fact to put up a special logo and even leave a celebratory message for fans of the site.

YouTube has more than that to celebrate; according to The Telegraph the site is on the verge of signing a full-length content deal with British broadcaster Channel 4. And even if that deal doesn’t go through, Hurley and his colleagues can be happy with the thought that they are more than just the ‘burger kings of the media’.
