Google’s video website, YouTube, could soon begin a paid television streaming service that, provided the negotiations with television networks conclude as planned. This new service will enable the users to view the episodes of their favorite television shows on Google Video, absolutely commercial free and will be available for online viewing just 24 hours after they have been aired on the parent networks. According to sources close to the project, the deal is currently in the initial phases, but both Google and the networks seem optimistic as of now.

However, there could be one factor that could bring the service down to its knees and that factor would be, the users. The primary reason bring that, Google plans to offer television shows in the format of online viewing as against download able content. Apple and Amazon online TV streaming service provide the users with the capability of viewing the shows online and then can download those episodes to their computers, by paying a small fee of $1.99 per episode.

YouTube is is currently running a movie rental service via the website and would love to get its hands on the television streaming deal. However, many believe that, the networks on the other hand would most definitely prefer to keep the pricing of both online streaming and downloading the same to save themselves the trouble of restructuring the entire pricing model.
