Here is good news for the techno-geeks! The world’s most affordable 3D scanner called “ZScanner 600” has been finally unveiled by Z Corporation. The scanner has been especially designed to capture 3D data and transfer the data to a computer. It is also deigned for reverse engineering, product design, and other applications as well. The scanner has a resolution as low as 0.1mm and XY accuracy of up to 80 microns.
It is very portable and can scan an object in one continuous scan. It also comes with ZScan Lite Software, which can produce a stl file automatically for importing into a 3D CAD software package and output to a 3D printer. With the help of a laser crosshair, the scanner paints the object being scanned.
The binocular cameras then scan the surface. The object being scanned can also be moved during the process of scanning. This is quite a nice scanner but I fail to understand why it is termed as the world’s most affordable 3D scanner when it is sold with an MSRP of $28,900.
